A Secret Diary of the Current Affairs
It is the story of a journey beyond a looking-glass, that of the judicial "Affairs" in the world of business and politics, a world of mediation and hidden money. For eighteen months, Denis Robert and Philippe Harel have met "brokers", "money launderers", helpless judges, politicians with vague speeches, inconspicuous go-betweens, fighters against corruption. The image they bring back from their journey is that of an extremely complex world, in which everything is allowed because nothing can be forbidden any longer.

The “Affairs” are the symptom of such a violent change that it blinded us all. “A secret diary of current affairs” is the witness-document of the financial revolution. The subversive chronicles of an age in which democracy is an increasingly absurd and laughable matter.
Press coverage
However dark the picture may be (…) it still reflects a belief. The belief that cinema can still do something, that it has a social role to play, that it remains a tool of resistance, a political weapon.
Cahiers du cinéma
The journalists that Denis Robert interviews, rendered powerless by the financing of the press and their dependence on advertisers or multinationals, are tired and disgusted (…) A Secret Diary of The Current Affairs paints the portrait of Denis Robert himself and his peers, admirable modern-day Don Quichotte.
Les Inrockuptibles
This film makes you want to react, to learn more.
Télérama
A Secret Diary is worth more than all the American fictions about end-of-century conspiracies and otherworldly intrusions. (…) A call for vigilance and increased citizenship.
